Background

So to start, I have used melatonin in the past, always to help me sleep. I deal with anxiety issues and can’t sleep on some nights. I am currently prescribed an antipsychotic however I feel no difference between using melatonin before and now. I did use some medical Marijuana leading up to this, but no more than I would normally use (roughly 1 or 2 hits from a bong). My setting was in my room at night after everyone else went to sleep. I was playing on my computer watching YouTube. Essentially I'm doing this to try and save money on medical weed.

Report

T+ 0:00 - Took 1 Melatonin pill (3mg), meanwhile I watched YouTube for roughly 10-15 minutes before I first felt something.

T+ 0:15 - First signs of anything, I start to feel my legs and arms relax, normally I’m anxiously bouncing my leg or tapping my fingers on the desk, however I am just sitting here watching YouTube barely moving a muscle. I also am starting to feel my eyes get heavier, but I am not really tired yet.

T+ 0:35 - My whole body begins to feel relaxed, I notice that it is becoming harder to focus on more than one thing, however I can still function for the most part. I am going to continue sitting in my chair so I don’t fall asleep.

T+ 0:50 - My eyes are almost shut no matter how hard I fight it, when I walk I find myself being slightly dizzy or uncoordinated. I am going to lay down, I will be back in the morning.

T+ 1:15+ I laid in bed for a while drifting in and out of sleep, eventually I opened my eyes and it was morning. I do not recall having any dreams which is normal for me, however usually after using melatonin I have very memorable dreams. I woke up without incident (not drowsy) and sat down to write this. Thank you for joining me on this small journey.
