Talk:4-FA
Rewording of the dose threshold
"4-Fluoroamphetamines pharmacology differs based on the amount of substance consumed.
When 100mg or more is introduced, 4-FA acts as a releasing agent and reuptake inhibitor of dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine, producing euphoric, enactogenic effects similar to MDMA. When lower doses of ~75mg are ingested, it only acts on dopamine and norephinephrine, producing effects more similar to a functional stimulant"
I think this should be changed to something to the tune of "4-Fluoroamphetamine acts as a releasing agent and reuptake inhibitor of dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine, producing stimulating amphetamine-like effects at lower doses and euphoric, enactogenic effects similar to MDMA at dosages above 100mg."
I can't find any source or proof for there being a serotonin threshold. Maybe I didn't dig deep enough so feel free to correct me. For what it's worth, many users on reddit disagree with the claim, including moderator roionsteroids: https://www.reddit.com/r/researchchemicals/comments/3r45b3/is_dosing_4fa_under_the_100mg_serotonin_trigger/ https://www.reddit.com/r/researchchemicals/comments/3mqmvc/low_doses_less_than_100mg_of_4fa_shouldnt_release/
Since I assume the claim in the article is based on the euphoric effects manifesting itself at dosages from 100mg and above in your personal experiences I propose that this should be reflected in the Subjective effects section, but without ascribing any assumed pharmacological cause for the threshold. For example: "Empathy, love, and sociability enhancement - In comparison to other substances, this effect can be described as identical to the effects produced by MDMA, but with less intensity. It is primarily felt at dosages above 100mg."

Dubious claim with bad reference
So, I noticed that this claim was made for both 2-fluorination & 4-fluorination, on the respective pages: "Studies demonstrate that 2-flourine amphetamine substitutions limit activity of the compound at the alpha-1 adrenergic receptor with an over 200-fold increased selectivity for A2 receptors over A1 receptors."
I decided to check the citation to see which one it supported, and realized that it was neither. The little bit about fluorinated norepinephrine is also pretty irrelevant in terms of SAR, so I think it was someone with a vested interest in selling these amphetamines attempting to justify the anecdotal effects / dose ceiling where applicable. I've removed the claim from the pages I noticed it in. Storm (talk) 04:59, 7 March 2017 (CET)
drug testing
does 4FA aka 4FMP test 'false positive' for amphetamines?
or are there drug tests, specific for 4FA aka 4FMP? for urine or blood.
is it true, that 4FA aka 4FMP is not metabolized in the body? so there are no metabolites in the body.

from [4]:
GodsOfWarMayCry: I'm saying this because I took a 10 panel test 3 days after taking 4FA and tested negative for everything (meth and amphetamine included). It might be coincidence, but this is what happened. And it wasn't my first time taking 4FA either.
drugsjustkickedinyo are you joking or not? It seems like 4FA, being very similar to Methamphetamine would show up rather readily.
FuzzyBacon 4FA isn't metabolized. So naturally any test for metabolites won't work.
pyrowaffles I'm assuming most fluorinated amphetamines would show a positive for amphetamines due to their very similar chemical structure.
