Integration techniques
Integration techniques are defined as any metacognitive subjective effect which improves abilities related to directly assessing the content of experiential reality. While these effects overlap, there are features of each that distinguish them from one another. This page lists and describes the various integration techniques which can occur under the influence of certain psychoactive compounds.
Learning techniques
Learning is defined as a gain in knowledge or skills.[1] Learning differs from memory due to timescales. Learning may be a slow and laborious process, whereas memory is a near-instant expression. Education aims to improve meaningful learning; it doesn't aim to merely develop test-taking abilities.[2]

Increased introspection
Increased introspection is a metacognitive effect defined as the state of mind in which a person feels encouraged to reflect upon and examine their internal psychological processes, judgements, or perceptions.[3][4][5][6][7][8] Questions such as "Why am I feeling so?", "How can I describe it?", "How may I cease/sustain this undesirable/desirable experience?" are examples of introspection.[9] It is important to note that introspection is only an inner observation; verbalizing the contents, especially outloud, is considered an entirely different process.[10]
This state of mind is effective at facilitating therapeutic self-improvement and positive personal growth. Contrary to early psychological assumptions, introspection appears to be an ability that can be honed; humans do not have automatic or unbiased access to experience.[6][7] Increasing introspection often results in insightful resolutions to the present situation, future possibilities, insecurities, and goals coinciding with personal acceptance of insecurities, fears, hopes, struggles, and traumas.
Increased introspection is likely the result of a combination of an appropriate setting in conjunction with other coinciding effects such as analysis enhancement, mindfulness,[6] and personal bias suppression. It is most commonly induced during meditation[7] or under the influence of moderate dosages of hallucinogenic compounds, such as psychedelics[11] and dissociatives.[5][12][13] However, it can also occur in a less consistent form under the influence of entactogens.

A system of meaning is two things simultaneously: (1) a model of the world and (2) a model for acting in that world.[14] Due to the fact that these several systems of meaning have existed and arisen throughout history, it ought to be believed that all systems of meaning are incomplete in their descriptive capacity. Unfortunately, that is a system of meaning in itself.

Reality tests exist in opposition to the exploration of systems of meaning. Photographic evidence
Photographic evidence is a reality testing technique that reinforces the distinction of self and other.
Hallucinogen users currently undergoing visual hallucinations can notice a distinction between viewing an object directly with their eyes as opposed to viewing an object through a camera's lense. The distinction arises based on the mental differences in interpreting physical distance. This technique is similar in manner to the visually impaired using a camera in lieu of glasses.
It is possible this technique is related to the perceived difficulty of using technology while undergoing a psychedelic trip.
