Substituted piperidines refers to a class of compounds which can produce stimulant, analgesic or dissociative effects.
Chemistry
Piperidine is an organic, heterocyclic compound consisting of a six-membered ring containing one amine (nitrogen) constituent. Its ring is fully saturated, and contains no double bonds. Piperidine is a staple component for the synthesis of complex drugs and chemicals.
Hydrogen atoms around the structure can be substituted for other functional groups to produce drugs of varying potency, affinity, efficacy and half-life.
